Catholic Service
"You will find, as you look back on your life, that the moments that stand out
are the moments when you have done things for others." - Henry Drummond
The Bishop Quinn school motto is "Love God, Love One Another."
One of the requirments of Bishop Quinn students is, that they complete at least 20 hours of community service per year. This service must be voluntary and without compensation. Some community service opportunities are as follows:
- Seniors and Juniors may attend Whiskey Town Environmental School for one week as a counselor. This averages about 110 hours. Which, of course, is far beyond the required amount.
- All students may participate every first Sunday of each month at Our Lady of Mercy parish as servers for the Pancake Breakfast with the Knights of Colombus. This service averages about 4 hours.
To find out more about the mentioned service oppurtunities and others, contact Mrs. Cole.
Seniors and Christian Service:
For Bishop Quinn Seniors, they are required, as a Senior Project, to complete all of their hours at one location. They are to write a one page essay that summarizes their experience and will present it at Senior Orals. Seniors must have 80 hours of Christian Service completed in order to graduate.
